I was going for a living dex though, and not knowing a better place to grind I just redid the League over and over. This is still all well and good, the game won't be able to create a backup save or properly save your Pokémon League wins, but if you just beat the game, roll credits, and move on, you wouldn't even notice an issue. It has a larger save file than the other Gen 3 games which I didn't know, so I just used the default settings for VC injection. Now Emerald works perfectly fine on a 3DS, if you inject it right. Had to do this a few years ago when I was going for a living dex in Pokémon Emerald via VC injection on a 3DS.
